In ABAQUS 1-direction is x or radial direction.

In ABAQUS 2-direction is y or tangential direction.

In ABAQUS 3-direction is z or axial direction.

 

In order to see the ABAQUS results in cylindrical coordinates, i.e. circumferential stress, follow these guidelines:

- define a cylindrical coordinate system.

- visualize the stress state in this coordinate system, for this

      + Menu: Results/Options

      + In Transformation tab, choose user-specified option

      + Select the new coordinate system defined previously, done

      + Select S22 to visualize the circumferential stress
